Compare different antibodies against MAP 2a,b,c.
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Description: Microtubule Associated Protein 2 exists in two high molecular weight forms (2a & 2b) and a low molecular weight form. The expression of MAP2 is developmentally regulated and its multiple forms arise by alternative splicing of a single gene.
Comments: Ab-3 is specific to phosphprylated form of MAP2a,b,c and shows no cross-reaction with other MAPs, tau, and tubulin. Ab-3 reacts with dendrites and cell bodies of neurons. It is useful in studies of neuron structure in normal and malignant brain tissue and in Alzheimer’s disease.
IgIsotype: IgG1
Epitope: aa 1-151
Clone Designation: AP18
Immunogen: Bovine brain microtubule associated protein 2.
Positive Control:IMR-5 or T98G human glioblastoma cells or brain
Cellular Localization:Cytoplasmic
Molecular Weight:~280kDa Doublet and a 70kDa singlet
Species reactivity:Human, Cow, Rat, Xenopus, Quail. Others not known.
